OUR A-RATED ALUMINIUM WINDOWS MEET ALL REQUIREMENTS
Aluminium windows are slimmer than ever before, thanks to the continuing hard work of industry design teams, such as those at ClearSpan.
The super slender aluminium windows now offered by ClearSpan measure just 43mm to the outer frame. ClearSpan’s aluminium windows can also accommodate apertures of up to 2100mm and can be designed to go round corners. Furthermore, despite their slim style, ClearSpan’s aluminium windows still meet strict criteria to achieve high insulation and energy efficiency ratings.
As ClearSpan’s Brian Britch, explains, “Our aluminium windows adhere to a similar ratings system to that which is used for white goods such as washing machines. The system incorporates two main measurements; a U-value and an energy rating.
“The U-value measures how much heat is lost through our aluminium windows, and the energy rating measures the energy efficiency of our aluminium windows. So, for example, ClearSpan’s aluminium windows have a U-value of 1.6 W/m²K and the highest energy rating of ‘A’.
“ClearSpan’s excellent ratings for its aluminium windows are achieved by fitting special extra wide 34mm polyamide thermal breaks, which separate the inner and outer faces of the aluminium thereby eliminating cold spots in the aluminium windows.
“The internal glass of our aluminium windows has a special low emissivity coating reflecting heat back into the room whilst the outer pane of our aluminium windows is a special low iron glass helping to improve solar heat gain. In addition to this, we fill the cavity between the panes of glass in our aluminium windows with 90 per cent argon gas and the perimeter of the sealed unit has a special warm edge spacer bar eliminating cold edges to the glass of the aluminium windows.
“Such a system means the polyester powder coated frames of our aluminium windows can be extremely thin, measuring only 43mm in height.”
ClearSpan’s aluminium windows are available in a large range of RAL colours with different glass options to suit any project. Configurations for the ClearSpan’s aluminium windows include fixed, side hung and off the top hung.
